XRP Ledger
The open-source distributed ledger on which XRP is the native digital asset.
OVERVIEW
What XRP Ledger does
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is a public, decentralised layer-one network designed to record and settle transactions without a single institution controlling the ledger. Independent servers maintain copies of its state and validators participate in consensus. XRPL supports XRP, issued assets, a built-in decentralised exchange and other ledger functions. Ripple contributes to the ecosystem, but the network and the company are not the same thing.
